Fight Night Preview 5th November 2017

fight night, preview

Ok fight fans it’s time for your second fight night preview of the week. In the early hours of Sunday morning we will be in the city so nice they named it twice New York, for a packed night of world championship action. All the action is live on Sky Sports Main Event from 1am.

Deontay Wilder V Bermane Stiverne

This fight will be Deontay Wilder’s 6th defence of his world title. The fight is also a rematch as the pair first met back in 2015 a fight that ended was Wilder winning a unanimous decision.

He comes into this fight with a record of 38-0 with 37 knockouts. He has won all of his last 6 fights, 5 of them by knockout. In his last fight he knocked out Gerald Washington in the 5th round to retain his title

Bermane Stiverne comes into this fight with a record of 25-2-1 with 21 knockouts. He’s won 5 out of his last 6 fights, 3 of them by knockout in his last fight he beat Derric Rossy by unanimous decision. However he hasn’t fought since 2015 so you have to wonder will he be ring rusty, and will he have the stamina to do the full 12 rounds.

This is going to be a really interesting fight to watch because we’ve got a champion who has been fairly active recently and we’ve got a challenger who hasn’t fought in over 2 years. The one thing we do know is both men can bang. I can see Wilder getting the stoppage in the middle to late rounds as Stiverne’s inactivity catches up with him. Whoever wins they’ve got a date with Dillian Whyte in their future as he became the WBC Sliver champion last weekend.

Sergey Lipinets V Akihiro Kondo

Sergey Lipinets comes into this fight with an undefeated record of 12-0 with 10 knockouts he has won all of his last 6 fights, 5 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Clarence Booth with a 7th round knockout.

Akihiro Kondo comes into this fight with a record of 29-6-1 with 16 knockouts he’s won all of his last 6 fights, 5 of them by knockout in his last fight he beat Yuya Okazzaki with a 6th round knockout. This fight will be something new for him as it’s his first fight outside of Japan.

This fight is going to be a difficult one to call because you’ve got Kondo with more experience and you’ve got Lipinets who’s the younger and fresher of the two. I think it’s going to be a close hard fight but I think Lipinets might just edge it on points.

Shawn Porter V Adrian Granados

Shawn Porter comes into this fight with a record of 27-2-1 with 17 knockouts he’s won 4 out of his last 6 fights, 3 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Andre Berto with a 9th round knockout.

Adrian Granados comes into this fight with a record of 18-5-2 with 12 knockouts he’s won 5 out of his last 6 fights, 3 of them by knockout. In his last fight he lost to Adrien Broner via split decision.

This fight could be a real 50/50 because I think both men know that if they lose it could be the end of the road for them. Their style should gel well, I can’t see ether men getting the knockout but think Porter might just get it on points

Enjoy the fights and Comment below and let me know your predictions.
