Fight Night Preview 12th November 2016

Ok fight fans its that time of the week again, this week we are in Montecarlo for a packed night of world championship boxing. All the action is live on Skysports 2 from 7pm.

 

 

Luis Ortiz comes into this fight undefeated with a record of 25-0 with 22 knockouts and 2 No contests. He has won 5 out of his last 6 all of them by knockout, with 1 no contest. In his last fight he beat Tony Thompson with a 6th round knockout.

Malik Scott comes into this fight with a record of 38-2-1 with 13 knockouts. However his recent form has been a bit inconsistent with 2 losses both by knockout and 1 draw. In his last fight he also beat Tony Thompson with a unanimous decision.

I think you have to give the edge to Luis Ortiz as he is undefeated and he seems to carry more power. However if Malik Scott can out box him he might get the decision, but to be honest I can’t see that happening I think Luis will get the stoppage in the middle rounds.

Jamie McDonnell V Liberio Solis

This fight will be Jamie McDonnell’s 5th defence of his world title that he won back in 2014. He comes into this fight with a record of 28-2-1 with 13 knockouts. He has won all of his last 6, 3 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Fernando Vargas with a 9th round knockout earlier this year.

This fight will be Liberio Solis second shot at a world title after failing in his first attempt earlier this year. He comes into this fight with a record of 25-4-1 with 11 knockouts. He has won 5 out of his last 6, only 1 by knockout. In his last fight he beat Freddy Beleno with a unanimous decision.

This fight could be a good one but I think McDonnell will win it either by late stoppage or on points, because I believe he is the better quality boxer and he’s fought at a higher level.

Jason Sosa V Stephen Smith

This fight will be Jason Sosa’s 1st defence of his world title that he won earlier this year. He comes into this fight with a record of 19-1-4. He has won 5 out of his last 6 all of them by knockout with 1 draw.  In his last fight he beat Javier Fortuna with a 11th round knockout to win the title.

This fight will be Stephen Smith second shot at a world title after he lost in that brave attempt against Jose Pedraza in May this year. He comes into this fight with a record of 24-2 with 14 knockouts. He has won 5 out of his last 6, 2 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Daniel Eduardo Brizuela with a 7th round knockout.

I think this fight could be a close one because we’ve got two fighters both in the prime of their careers, but I think Smith might just edge it on boxing skills.
