How To Get Involved In Boxing

get Involved in boxing

Ok so we are two and half weeks into the new year and I’m sure some of you have made the resolution to loose weight and get in shape. So in this post I will be looking at how you can get involved in boxing.

This is one of the most common questions I get asked so I thought it was about time I wrote a post about it. So maybe you’ve joined a gym and you are struggling to get motivated to go or perhaps you’ve tried the gym and it’s just not for you. Then maybe boxing could be the sport for you but you don’t know where to start. Well the first thing you need to do is find a club. If you use the link you will see that not only will it show you clubs near you, but you can also narrow down the criteria so you can find clubs that will help you reach your goals. My advice if your search comes up with more than one club then try more than one until you find one that suits you.

When you start don’t worry about buying any equipment as all clubs will have all the equipment you need. If you really get into it then go out and buy your own gloves and raps but all you need to get started is a pair of trainers and a drink.

Another question I get asked is what if you don’t want to fight? That’s fine just because your a member of a boxing club doesn’t mean you have to get in the ring and fight, many people do boxing training without ever having a fight. It’s just a good way to keep fit doing something you enjoy, and because sessions are done in a class format it means that you get to meet new people and they keep you motivated to keep going.

I hope you have found this helpful so give it a go and who knows you could be a future world champion. So just get out there and give it a go.

Please comment below and let me know your thoughts, or if you have anymore questions. If you do have any questions about how to get started or just about boxing in general and don’t want to put it in the comments then please contact me, and I will get back to you.
