Fight night review for Saturday 26th March 2016

fight night, review
Saturday saw two big fights.

Kell Brook vs Kevin Bizier

Kell Brook retained his IBF world title with a 2nd round knockout of his mandatory challenger Kevin Bizer. The atmosphere was electric as Brook made his way to the ring. However it was obvious from the first bell that Brook was too good for his game but overmatched opponent. When the bell rang for the start of the 2nd round Brook floored Bizer heavy, but the challenger got bravery back to his feet. Unfortunately for Bizer Brook smell blood and move in for the kill! Quickly flooring Bizer again giving referee Marcus McDonnell no choice but to stop the fight.

Elsewhere on a packed bill

Luck Campbell’s comeback got off to a good start with a 2nd round knockout victory over Gary Sykes, for the vacant commonwealth title In the chief support.

Nick Blackwell vs Chris Eubank Jr

Chris Eubank Jr won the British middleweight title against Nick Blackwell after he was stop by the doctor in the 10th round.

Blackwell started the brighter of the too but after suffering what looks like a broken nose early, he struggled to cope with Eubanks power and accuracy. Midway through the 10th, blood was pouring from his nose so the referee asked the doctor to look at him, and for his own safety the doctor stop the fight.

However it was certainly a fight I for one wouldn’t mind seeing again.

However ather the fight Blackwell was taken to hospital, and was found to have a brian bleed, so he has been put into a coma. Our thoughts and and pray are with him and hope you gets well soon.
