Fight Night Preview for the 2nd April 2016

fight night, preview
Ok fight fans once again it’s that time of the week Liverpool will be playing host to a packed night of boxing. All the action will be live on Sky Sports1 from 8pm.

Callum Smith Vs Hadillah Mohoumadi

This fight is a final eliminator for the WBC Super Middleweight Championship, which means that the winner will be the mandatory challenger for Badou Jack’s belt.

Smith goes into the fight as favourite and with a big hometown advantage, he is also undefeated with a record of 18-0 and 13 knockouts. In his last fight Smith knocked out his Merseyside rival Rocky Fielding in the 1st round back in 2015.

Hadillah Mohoumadi is a French orthodox fighter with a record of 20-3-1 with 15 knockouts. He has won all of his last 6 fights beating 5 by knockout, in his last fight he beat Ericles Torres Marin with a 1st round knockout.  In my opinion Mohoumadi has everything to lose and very little to gain ok if he wins he gets a world title shot but if he loses he will also lose his EBU belt that is also on the line and at 35 there does he go from there.

I think this will be a tough fight because both of them carry power but I think Smith’s youth, speed and power with be too much for Mohoumadi, I predict an early stoppage.

Rocky Fielding Vs Christopher Rebrasse

This is Rocky’s first fight since he lost in the 1st round to Callum Smith at the end of last year you have to give him credit most fighters after a big loss will take an easier fight to get their confidence back but he hasn’t  done that, he’s jump straight back in with a tough fight.

Now I know what you’re thinking Christopher Rebrasse why does that names sound familiar it’s because he holds a points win over George Groves and he also has a points loss to Callum Smith on his record. So he goes into this fight with a record 24-4-3 with 6 knockouts.

This will be a hard fight for both of them and whoever wins will be back in the world title mix. I think that if Rocky can land one of his trademark power shots he will get the knockout. However as we know from his previous visits over here Christopher is a tough and durable opponent. So whoever wins its going to be a good fight.

Scott Cardle Vs Sean Dodd

This is a much anticipated rematch for the British lightweight title their first fight was a fight of the year candidate, with Dodd looking like he was going to win. Then in the 12th round Cardle came back to stop Dodd, many people thought the referee stopped it too soon so straight after the fight the rematch was called for.

This is going to be a 50/50 fight with both men having something to prove I think whoever wins it’s going to be a great fight this could even be fight of the night! My only concern is that rematches are rarely as good as the 1st fight.

Paul Smith Vs Daniel Regi

Now I have to admit I don’t understand why Paul Smith is making a comeback because he’s got nothing left to prove to anyone we all know he’s a good fighter who gives everything when he gets in the ring, but his coming off 3 losses on the bounce and in his last fight he didn’t even make weight.  Now don’t get me wrong I would love to see him win.

Daniel Regi is from Hungry and he is an orthodox fighter, with a record of 28-13 with 15 knockouts, however he’s only won 4 out of he’s last 6.

In my opinion this fight could be a loose, loose fight for Paul if he wins people will say he was too good for Daniel and if he loses people will say he should have never try to comeback.  If Daniel wins it will be a good name on his record that could restart his career.
