Ok fight fans it’s that time of the week again fight night preview time. This week we are across the pond in the city so nice they named it twice New York, for a packed night of action. All the action is live on Sky Sports Main Event from 1am.
Adrian Broner V Mikey Garcia
Adrian Broner comes into this fight with a record of 33-2 with 24 knockouts. He has won 5 out of his last 6, 2 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Adrian Granados by split decision back in February.
Mikey Garcia comes into this fight with a undefeated record of 36-0 with 30 knockouts. He has won all of his last 6, 4 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Dejan Zlaticanin with a 3rd round knockout.
On paper this should be a great fight and a possible fight of the year candidate. As we have two fighters both in their prime, and both of them can bang so I don’t think this is going to be a fight of finesse I think it’s going to be a case of who lands clean first. So my advice is don’t fall asleep for this one because blink and you may miss it there’s no way this one’s going the distance.
Jermall Charlo V Jorge Sebastian Heiland
Jermall Charlo comes into this fight with an undefeated record of 25-0 with 19 knockouts. He has won all of his last 6,4 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Julian Williams with a 5th round knockout.
Jorge Sebastian Heiland comes into this fight with a record of 29-4-2 with 16 knockouts. However his recent form has been outstanding as he has won all of his last 6, 5 of them by knockout in his last fight he beat Mateo Damian Veron with an 8th round knockout.
This one could be a real 50/50 fight and a good fight to watch but I think Charlo might just edge it on points or by stoppage in the middle to late rounds.
Jarrell Miller V Gerald Washington
Jarrell Miller comes into this fight with a undefeated record of 18-0-1 with 16 Knockouts. The only blot on his record is a draw from back in 2013. He has won all of his last 6 all of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Fred Kassi with a 3rd round stoppage.
Gerald Washington comes into this fight with a record of 18-1-1 with 12 knockouts. This fight will be his first fight back since he lost in his world title challenge to Deontay Wilder which ended with him been knocked out in the 5th round. He has won 4 of his last 6 with 1 draw and of course the loss to Wilder only 2 of his wins have come by knockout
This fight is a difficult one to call because they both have very similar records but if I had to pick a winner I would probably go for Miller on points or by very late stoppage. Only because he doesn’t know how to lose which could give him an advantage. If I’m right you have to ask the question were does Washington go next can he come back from back to back defeats.
Also on the bill we will see Katie Taylor make her US debut
