Fight Night Preview 29th April 2018

fight night, preview

Ok fight fans it’s that time of the week again fight night preview time, this week we are back in the city so nice they named it twice New York. At the Barclays Centre which is fast becoming the new home of boxing in the US. All the action will be live on Sky Sports Action from 2am.

Daniel Jacobs V Maciej Sulecki

This fight is a final eliminator for the WBA Middleweight title. Daniel Jacobs comes into this big fight with a record of 33-2 with 29 knockouts. He has won 5 out of his last 6 fights, 4 of them by knockout. In his last fight he out classed Luis Arias to win a wide unanimous decision.

Maciej Sulecki comes into this fight with a perfect professional record of 26-0 with 10 knockouts. He’s knocked out 5 out of his last 6 opponents. In his last fight he won a unanimous decision over Jack Culcay.

This should be a very close fight and it should be a good fight to watch, because this is a title eliminator whoever wins will become the mandatory challenger for Gennady Golovkin’s title. I think you have to make Jacobs the favourite for this because he has fought at a much higher level, even though both men carry knockout power I can see this fight going the distance. If Jacobs does win it will give us the rematch we all want to see, when the pair first met although Jacobs came up short he showed that Golovkin is not invincible. However whoever wins they could be in for a long wait for their shot because Golovkin is fighting on the 5th May and last weekend Jermall Charlo became the mandatory challenger for Golovkin’s WBC belt.

Jarrell Miller V Johann Duhaupas

Jarrell Miller comes into this fight with an undefeated record of 20-0-1 with 18 knockouts. He’s knocked out all of his last 6 opponents. In his last fight he knocked out Mariusz Wach in the 9th round.

Johann Duhaupas comes into this fight with a record of 37-4 with 27 knockouts. He’s won 5 out of his last 6, 4 of them by knockout. In his last fight he knocked out Newfel Ouatah in the 8th round.

This fight could be one of those don’t blink or you might miss it because both carry serious power in their punches. However I think that if the knockout hasn’t come by the 6th round I can see it going the distance and I think you have to make Miller the favourite for this fight because he doesn’t know how to lose.

Katie Taylor V Victoria Noelia Bustos

This is a fight that I’m really looking forward to because it’s something that doesn’t happen very often a title unification fight in women’s boxing.

Katie Taylor comes into this fight with a perfect professional record of 8-0 with 4 knockouts. She has knocked out 3 of her last 6 opponents in her last fight she successfully defended her title against Jessica McCaskill with a unanimous decision victory.

Victoria Noelia Bustos Comes into this fight with a record of 18-4 with no knockouts. She’s won 5 out of her last 6 fights. In her last fight she defended her title also with a unanimous decision victory over Maria Soledad Capriolo.

Although both women come into this as champion you have to make Taylor the clear favourite, because it seems like she is the better boxer. I believe she will win this one on points or by late stoppage.

Enjoy the fights and comment below and let me know your predictions.
