Jorge Linares V Anthony Crolla
There is only one place to start this week and that is with this much anticipated rematch, this is both men’s first fight since that controversial judge’s decision back in October.
Jorge Linares comes into this fight with a record of 41-3 with 27 knockouts. He has won all of his last 6, 4 of them by knockout. His last fight was the first match with Anthony Crolla it was a hard fought fight that was a candidate for fight of the year that he won by unanimous decision.
Anthony Crolla comes into this fight with a record of 31-5-3 with 13 knockouts. He has won 3 out of his last 6, 2 of them by knockout with 1 loss and 2 draws. Many people believe he got his tactics wrong in the first fight, he seem to do it too little too late.
I think this fight is going to be another close one, however there is one big difference this time Linares knows he can beat Crolla. Having said that I still think Crolla is the better fighter out of the 2, and this time I think he will come out with a point to prove so he may go out looking for the knockout early. Whoever wins it should be an enthralling match from start to finish.
Martin J Ward V Maxi Hughes
This fight is for the British title and another big domestic rematch. Martin J Ward comes into this fight with an undefeated record of 16-0-2 with 8 knockouts He’s won all of his last 6, 3 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Ronnie Clark with a unanimous decision to win the British title.
Maxi Hughes comes into this fight with a record of 16-2-2 with only 2 knockouts. He has won 4 of his last 6 but none of them by knockout, with 1 loss and 1 draw. In his last fight he beat Fonz Alexander on points to set up this rematch.
This fight could be fight of the night as this is their 3rd fight the last time the pair met Ward stopped Hughes. I think ward will win this one on points or by late stoppage as he has fought at a higher level. However Hughes is going to have a point to prove, as he as never beaten Ward as their first fight ended in a draw, but I don’t think he has the punch power to hurt Ward.
Brian Rose V Jack Arnfield
Brian Rose comes into this fight with a record of 29-4-1 with 8 knockouts he has won 4 out of his last 6 with only 1 knockout, he has also lost 2. In his last fight he beat Stiliyan Kostov on points.
Jack Arnfield comes into this fight with a record of 23-2 with 6 knockouts. He has won 5 out of his last 6, 2 of them by knockout in his last fight he beat Mick Hall with an 11th round knockout.
I think Brian Rose should win this one as he has fought at a much higher level as he is a former world title challenger. If Jack Arnfield wins it could put him in the world title picture, however if that does happen were does Brian Rose go from here?
Marcus Morrison V Jason Welborn
Marcus Morrison will be looking to continue his perfect start to his professional career as he comes into this fight with a undefeated record of 14-0 with 10 knockouts. His won all of his last 6, 5 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Harry Matthews on points
Jason Welborn comes into this fight with a record of 20-6 with 7 knockouts. His recent form has been very hit and miss as he has only won 3 of his last 6 but only 1 of those wins came by knockout. He has also lost 3 fights including 2 back to back. In his last fight he beat Casey Blair on points.
I can only see one winner of this one I can see Marcus Morrison getting the knockout early. I know he’s only young and every fighter has to learn their craft but surely it’s about time he was stepped up.
