Fight Night Preview 22nd October 2016

fight night, preview
It’s that time of the week again, this week the Barclaycard arena Birmingham is hosting a packed night of boxing all the action is live on Skysports 2 from 8pm.

Sam Eggington V Frankie Gavin

There is only one place to start and thats with the big local derby fight,ok there’s no title on the line but what is on the line is bragging rights.

Sam Eggington comes in to the fight with a record of 18-3 with 10 knockouts. He is still rebuilding his career after he lost the British and Commonwealth titles to Bradley Skeete in March this year.  However he has won 5 out of his 6, 4 of them by knockout.  In his last fight he beat Daza Usher with a 1st round knockout.

Frankie Gavin comes into this fight with a record of 23-2 with 14 knockouts he is also rebuilding his career after failing in is world title challenge against Kell Brook in May this year. He has won 4 out of his last 6, but only 1 by knockout. In his last fight he beat Ivo Gogosevic with a 6th round knockout.

So who’s going to win this one you would have to say Gavin has fought at a much higher level, but I believe that Eggington is the better fighter.  Whoever wins it will probably be on points.

Craig Cunningham V Anthony Ogogo

Craig Cunningham comes into this fight with a record of 16-1 with 3 knockouts. He has won 5 out of his last 6, but only one of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Jason Wellborn on points.

Anthony Ogogo comes into this fight undefeated with a record of 11-0 with 7 knockouts. He has won all of his last 6, 5 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Bronislav Kubin with a 2nd round knockout.

I think Anthony will win this by knockout because he has fought at a much higher level against better opponents.

Sean Davis V Paul Economides

Sean Davis comes into this fight undefeated with a record of 10-0 with no Knockouts. He has won all of his last 6 but none of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Krzysztof Rogowski on points.

Paul Economides comes into this fight with a record of 20-5 with 4 knockouts. He has won all of his last 6, 3 of them by knockout in his last fight he beat Elvis Guillen on points.

I think this one could be a tough fight it will probably go the distance, or Paul might get a late stoppage.

Also on the bill:

Kal Yafai will be in an 8 rounder but at the time of writing this post his opponent had not been confirmed

Enjoy the night and comment below and let me know your predictions
