Ok fight fans it’s time for the second preview of the week. In the early hours of Sunday morning we go across the pond to the city so nice they named it twice New York, as The Barclay Centre hosts a pack night of action. All the action is live on Sky Sports Action from 2am, here’s my fight night preview of all the action.
Adrien Broner V Jessie Vargas
Adrien Broner comes into this big fight with a record of 34-3 with 24 knockouts. He’s won 4 out of his last 6 fights, 2 of them by knockout. In his last fight he lost a unanimous decision to Mikey Garcia.
Jessie Vargas comes into this fight with a record of 28-2 with 10 knockouts. He’s also won 4 out of his last 6 fights, but only 1 of them by knockout. In his last fight he won a unanimous decision over Aaron Herrera.
I think although there recent form is exactly the same I think that because Broner is coming off a loss he will come out with a point to prove. I think he will look to out box Vargas and maybe look for the stoppage in the late rounds. One thing’s for sure this is a must win fight for both men because whoever loses I’m not sure where they go from here, but particularly Broner can his career survive back to back defeats.
Gervonta Davis V Jesus Cuellar
Gervonta Davis comes into this fight with a perfect professional record of 19-0 with 18 knockouts. He’s becoming something of a knockout artist as he has only been taken the distance once and that was back in 2014 when he won a unanimous decision over German Meraz. In his last fight he knocked out Francisco Fonseca in the 2nd round.
Jesus Cuellar comes into this fight with a record of 28-2 with 21 knockouts. He’s won 5 out of his last 6 fights, 3 of them by knockout. In his last fight he lost a split decision to Abner Mares in a fight for the world title.
This is going to be one of those fights don’t blink or you might miss it as both men carry big punches, this fight could come down to who lands clean first.
Jermall Charlo V Hugo Centeno Jr
Jermall Charlo comes into this fight with a record of 26-0 with 20 knockouts. He’s knocked out 4 of his last 6 opponents. In his last fight he knocked out Jorge Sebastian Heiland in the 4th round.
Hugo Centeno comes into this fight with a record of 26-1 with 14 knockouts. He’s won 5 out of his last 6 fights, 3 of them by knockout. In his last fight he knocked out Immanuwel Aleem in the 3rd round.
This fight could be fight of the night I think their styles will gel well, however I think you have to make Charlo the favourite I think he will score the knockout in the middle to late rounds.
Enjoy the fights and comment below and let me know your predictions.
Don’t know much about them so will be looking forward to reading your review cheers Chris.
