Okay fight fans it’s fight night preview time this week we are in the fighting city of Liverpool to see 2 time world champion, Natasha Jonas, defend her title against American Makayla Mayer, all the action is live on Sky Sports Arena from 7 pm.
Before the big fight let’s take a detailed preview look at this highly anticipated main event. This is one of those fights that I’ve been excited about since it was announced. I really think it’s going to be a true 50-50 fight.
Natasha Jonas V Makayla Mayer
Natasha Jonas comes into this fight as the reigning world champion she comes to this fight with an impressive professional record of 14-2-1 with 9 knockouts. She has won all of her last five fights, 2 of them by knockout. In her last fight, she stopped Kandi Wyatt in the 8th round to retain her Welterweight title.
Makayla Mayer comes into this fight with a record of 19-1 with 5 knockouts. She has won 4 out of her last 5 fights. None of them by knockout, the only loss on her record came against Alycia Baumgardner in a split decision loss and she lost her world title.
On the scales, both women looked in great shape, and like they had a good camp leading into this fight
You want to know who’s going to win honest answer is I don’t know which is why I’m so looking forward to this fight, you had to say that the edge in experience goes to Jonas and she’s fought at arguably a higher level, however this could be one of those fights that comes down to the style of the fighters which is why I think it’s going to be a great watch because I think their styles will gel well. I don’t think we’re going to see any quick knockouts in this one I think it’s going to go all 10 rounds. I also think that it could be an early candidate for fight of the year and it’s definitely one you’re not going to want to miss. If you do miss the fight. However don’t panic I will be putting a full fight review of all the action up on Sunday morning.
As always, I love to hear what you guys think. Put your prediction in the comments. Who’s going to win this one because I honestly can’t pick a winner and I’ve been trying to since the fight was announced.
Hi Chris, this is a hard one to call but I would like Natasha Jonas win as she the local girl, it will be a good fight, it fights like theses that you want to watch. All the best Chris.
