Fight Night Preview 20th August 2017

fight night, preview

Ok fight fans it’s that time of the week again fight night preview time. This week we are back across the pond in Lincoln Nebraska for a packed night of action. All the action is live on Sky Sports Main Event from 2am.

Terence Crawford V Julius Indongo

There is only one place to start this week and that is with this big unification fight for the IBF, WBO, WBA Super and the WBA titles. In this fight we also have two undefeated fighters and we all know what that means somebody 0 has to go.

Terence Crawford comes into this fight with a perfect record of 31-0 with 22 knockouts. He has been on a great run of form recently winning all of his last 6, 5 of them by knockout. As well as winning the WBC title in the process. In his last fight he stopped Felix Diaz in the 10th round to retain both of his titles, and help set up this super fight.

Julius Indongo also comes into this fight with a perfect record of 22-0 with 11 knockouts. He has also won all of his last 6, 3 of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Ricky Burns by unanimous decision to win the IBF, IBO and the WBA titles.

So who’s going to win this one this is a difficult fight to call as we have two fighters both with similar fighting styles, one thing’s for sure it should be a great fight to watch and if I had to pick a winner I think Crawford might just edge it on points or by late stoppage.

Dillian Whyte V Malcolm Tann

Dillian Whyte comes into this fight with a record of 20-1 with 15 knockouts. He’s done well to get back on to the world stage after losing to Anthony Joshua back in 2015. He has won 5 out of his last 6. 3 of them by knockout in his last fight he beat fellow Brit Dereck Chisora by a split decision in one of the best fights of 2016.

Malcolm Tann comes into this fight with a record of 24-5 with 13 knockouts. His recent form has been a bit hit and miss as he has only won 3 of his last 6, only 1 of them by knockout. In his last fight he was knocked out in the 4th round by Sergey Kuzmin.

You have to make Whyte the favourite for this one I know it’s his American debut so his going to be under pressure to impress, but I don’t think Tann will be able to stand up to his power. It also looks like Tann could be looking past Whyte as he is scheduled to fight again in November.

Oleksandr Gvozdyk V Craig Baker

Oleksandr Gvozdyk comes into this fight with a perfect record of 13-0 with 11 knockouts. He has won all of his last 6, winning all of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Yunieki Gonzalez with a 3rd round knockout.

Craig Baker comes into this fight with a record of 17-1 with 13 knockouts. He has won 5 out of his last 6 all of them by knockout. In his last fight he beat Steve Lovett with an 8th round knockout.

On paper this looks like it could be a good fight, and I can’t see it going the distance. As both fighters have got knockout power. It could be a close fight for as long as it lasts, I think Gvozdyk will win it by knockout in the middle to late rounds. Whoever wins it should put them in the world title picture.

If you’re staying up enjoy it and don’t forget to comment below and let me know your predictions.
