Boxing Schedule For 2018

Boxing Schedule

With boxing about to burst back on to our screens this weekend I thought it might be a good idea to give you a boxing schedule for 2018. Here are just some of the fights we can look forward to.

February

  • 3rd: British Beef this one should be a great night of action with Lawrence Okolie and Isaac Chamberlain topping a packed bill at the O2.
  • 10th: we are back in the capital at the Copper box Arena with Zolani Tete V Omar Andres topping the bill.

On the same night we go across the pond to Texas to see the much anticipated fight between Sergey Lipinets and Mikey Garcia for the IBF Super Lightweight title. Also on the bill that night we will see Rances Barthelemy take on Kiryl Relikh for the vacant WBA Super Lightweight title.

  • 17th: we head to the fighting city of Manchester for a night I personally am really looking forward to as The Saint Gorge Groves goes toe to toe with Chris Eubank Jr in the semi finals of the World Boxing Super Series, Groves’s WBA title will also be on the line. Also on the bill Ryan Walsh will be defending his British Featherweight title against Isaac Lowe.
  • 24th: All the action comes from Germany as Callum Smith takes on Jurgen Braehmer in the semi final of the World Boxing Super Series in the Super Middleweight division.

March

  • 3rd: We start March in the steel city of Sheffield for a make or break fight for Kell Brook as he starts his comeback in a new weight division, against Siarhei Rabchanka, in what can only be described as a must win fight for Brook. Also on the bill that night Gamal Yafai will be taking on Gavin McDonnell.

Also that night we head to the city so nice they named it twice New York, for a world heavyweight title clash as the WBC champion Deontay Wilder defends his title against Luis Ortiz. Then many people believe he will have a unification fight with Anthony Joshua at some point this year.

  • 10th: we are off to sunny California to see if Scott Quigg can once again become a world champion, when he takes on Oscar Valdez for the WBO Featherweight title.
  • 24th: Back to the O2 we go to see Dillian Whyte defend his WBC Silver title against Lucas Browne. This is a very risky fight for Whyte as he has everything to lose and nothing to gain.
  • 31st: It’s time for the big one as Anthony Joshua takes on Joseph Parker for the unified championship of the world. As well as a packed undercard including David Price.

April

  • 14th: we have a packed night of world championship action as Billy Joe Saunders defends his WBO Middleweight title against Martin Murray. Also on the bill that night Terry Flanagan defends his WBO Light Welterweight title against Maurice Hook.
  • 21st: King Khan Amir Khan returns to the UK for the first time since 2013 as he goes toe to toe with Phil Lo Greco. If he wants to get back in the world title mix this is a must win fight for Khan. This show also has a packed undercard with Sean Dodd taking on Tommy Coyle. Anthony Fowler, Conor Ben and Tasha Jones are also scheduled to be on the card.

On the same night in Belfast Carl Frampton finally gets his home coming fight as he takes on Nonito Donair.

May

  • 5th: May starts with the rematch the world has been waiting for as Tony Bellew once again goes to war with David Haye.
  • 19th: We head to Leeds to see these rivals put it all on the line as Lee Selby defends his IBF Featherweight title against his mandatory Challenger Josh Warrington.

As you can see 2018 is shaping up to be another great year for boxing, of course more fights will be announced as the year goes on and of course I will keep you informed as and when they are made. However to make sure you don’t miss any news don’t forget to subscribe, that way you will never miss a post.

Please comment below and let me know what fights your looking forward to the most.
